hi guys i havent posted in a while and its not like because i forgot about this site or anything no its the complete opposite in fact

i usually reserve all my newgrounds post for art i actually see as, well, "actual art". recently i haven't made anything i consider "actual art". it's probably just cus im busy this summer working on getting into college and all that sweet stuff, and because i am suffering from art block. i feel lazy and unmotivated all the time and that's probably just all the burnout from school. i also think maybe i just set my expectations for myself too high... but i really don't like posting doodles and stuff on here because newgrounds themselves say that the art portal isnt really for that stuff. and so all my doodles go on my twitter and instagram just for that reason

so uhm yea thats all i wanted to say. i really wish i could post on this silly site again because i love it so much. but my posts here are getting more and more infrequent and it makes me sad. i love newgrounds. i want to show my support by actively contributing to it. but i'm sitting here complaining about how i can't instead. christ.

anyways thanks for reading if you didnt thats ok too i love you ok bai :3 and remember to stay epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can always mark things as a sketch lol idk

what indie said, no need to always post stuff to the art portal! you can just set doodles to not go into it and they will still appear on your profile and in peoples' feeds!

If you're suffering from art block, some tactics I always use is doodle things for upcoming events (IRL, Newgrounds, or trends), or doodle something that's way out of your league, or in some cases: just doodling your emotions.

Though, in my case I tend to polish even the most meaningless doodles. Just because I think it's funny to have a super polished and well done drawing of like a character face-down on a bed. That's just me though.

It can be good to ease down on things if you feel a sense of burn out, as forcing yourself to continue can be more damaging than not, especially with more going on or if you find yourself to be too focused on doing your best, at least in my experiences.

With that said, you might surprise yourself to cut loose a bit and do what feels good in the moment, though that may largely depend on if you find it easier to work with a plan or being in a natural state when drawing. Who knows, maybe posting outside the portal with sketches could be of some relief possibly.

No worries, man. Come back whenever you feel like it
